Description
Empiri gives ChatGPT structured, sourced data about Danish companies, the people registered in their management and ownership, and Danish real estate. It is built for professionals who research companies: lawyers, accountants, bankers, journalists, investors, sales and procurement teams. Without signing in: - Find a Danish company by name or CVR number. - Its latest annual report: revenue, profit, equity, key ratios, the auditor's statement. - Its current owners with capital and voting shares. - Its current executive board and board of directors. When signed in with an Empiri account that has access to this data, also the following, including all earlier years and history: - Company facts from the Central Business Register (CVR): status, legal form, address, industry, purpose, share capital, employees, production units, bankruptcy or reconstruction processes from Statstidende. - Annual reports year by year: revenue, gross profit, EBIT, net profit, equity, assets, liabilities, key ratios, the auditor's statement and any modified opinion or going-concern note, consolidated and interim figures, and the management's review. - Ownership: registered owners with capital and voting shares, the chain of owners to the top, subsidiaries, and the full group structure as a graph. - Management and history: directors, board, auditor, former roles, name and status changes. - People's registered business roles and ownership, and how companies and people are connected. - Danish property: buildings and units (BBR), public valuations, sales history, owners (companies in full, private owners by first name only), cadastre, energy labels, soil contamination and area statistics. - Batch lookups of up to 50 companies or properties, and industry and bankruptcy statistics. Every answer links to the source page on empiri.dk and states how current each register is. Ownership shares are the intervals registered in CVR (for example 66.67-90%). Key ratios are calculated by Empiri from the reported figures. Empiri reports registered facts; it does not rate companies or people and does not provide credit scores. Limitations: only Danish registers; annual reports from 2012; amounts are never converted between currencies. Data access is read-only.

People who share registered companies with a given person in CVR (co-directors, fellow board members, co-owners), with how many companies they share, which roles, and which companies; plus the properties owned by the person's companies (never properties the person owns privately). Use for "who does X work with", "X's business connections", "which properties do X's companies own". For the path between two specific entities use find_connections. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_person_network
All companies a person is or has been registered in, from CVR: role (director, board member, chair, founder, owner, auditor, liquidator), dates, capital and voting share for ownership (the intervals registered in CVR, not estimates by Empiri), and each company's status, industry, employees and latest equity, EBIT and net profit. Use for "which companies is X involved in", "what does X own", "X's board positions", "X's former companies". Filter current or former roles. Lists are paginated. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_person_roles
For a Danish audit firm (registered as auditor for other companies in CVR): number of active and former clients, client gains and losses per year, clients by industry, city and size, the largest clients, the newest clients, recently signed reports and the firm's auditors. Use for "who does audit firm X audit", "how big is X's audit portfolio". Answers ENTITY_NOT_FOUND when the company is not registered as an audit firm. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_auditor_portfolio
The Danish Building and Dwelling Register (BBR) for a property: every building with use, construction and renovation year, areas, floors, wall and roof material, heating installation and medium, water supply, drainage, listed status and asbestos; every unit (dwelling or commercial) with area, rooms, toilets, bathrooms, kitchen, housing type and rental status; and technical installations such as oil tanks, heat pumps and solar panels. Use for "get the BBR data", "when was the house built", "how is it heated", "how many rooms", "does it have an oil tank". Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_property_bbr
Annual report figures for a Danish company, year by year, from the reports filed with the Danish Business Authority (XBRL): revenue, gross profit, operating profit (EBIT), net profit, equity, total assets, cash, liabilities, employees, plus calculated ratios (equity ratio, margins, return on assets and equity, current ratio, EBITDA), the auditor's statement type and any modified opinion or going-concern note, and links to the report PDF. Use for several years or an earlier year: "how is X doing financially over time", "financial development over the last five years", "X's revenue in 2019", "has X's profit grown". Optionally the full income statement and balance sheet, group (consolidated) figures, quarterly/half-year reports, and the latest management's review text. For the latest fiscal year alone ("what was X's revenue/profit/equity last year", "is X profitable", "who audited X's latest annual report"), use get_company_latest_financials first: it works with or without signing in. Amounts are whole units of each year's currency (usually DKK) and are never converted; null means not reported (small companies often do not report revenue). Default: the latest 5 fiscal years, newest first. The ratios are calculated by Empiri from the reported figures with fixed formulas (e.g. equity ratio = equity / total assets); the company did not report them, and they can differ from the key ratios in the company's own annual report. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_financials
Monthly (earlier: yearly) employment figures for a Danish company from CVR: headcount and full-time equivalents over time, newest first. Use for "how many employees does X have now", "has X grown or cut staff", "employment trend". The latest 1-2 months can be incomplete. For the employee count in the latest annual report alone, get_company_latest_financials has it. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_employment
A Danish company's registered history as a timeline, newest first: name changes, status changes (e.g. to bankruptcy or dissolution), legal form changes, main industry changes, management joining and leaving, owners entering and leaving, and announcements in Statstidende (bankruptcy decree, claims review, liquidation, reconstruction). Use for "what has happened in X", "when did X change name", "management changes", "when did X go bankrupt", "recent changes". Filter by event type or date range. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_history
The registered management of a Danish company from CVR: CEO/directors (direktion), board of directors (bestyrelse) with chair, founders, auditor (revisor), liquidators and other registered roles, each with dates and a person_id to look the person up. Use for the registered auditor (revisor), founders, liquidators and other roles, and with include_former=true for "former directors/board members of X", "who was on the board of X in 2021" and management changes over time. For the current executive board and board of directors ("who runs X", "who is the CEO of X", "who sits on the board of X"), use get_company_current_management first: it works with or without signing in. A role is a formal registration, not proof of influence. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_management
Who owns a Danish company, according to the CVR owner register: current and former registered owners (persons and companies) with capital share AND voting share as CVR intervals, the chain of largest owners upwards to the top, and the companies it directly owns (subsidiaries). Use for ownership history and structure: "how has the ownership of X changed", "former owners of X", "who owned X before", "who is at the top of X's ownership chain", "what does X own", "is X part of a group". For a plain "who owns X" or "the current owners of X", use get_company_current_owners first: it works with or without signing in. Shares are the intervals registered in CVR (e.g. 33.33-50%), not estimates by Empiri: report the interval, never a single figure or a midpoint. About half of ownerships have no share registered. The register mixes legal and beneficial owners, so a person can appear both directly and via a holding company: never add shares up. For the whole group structure as a graph use get_ownership_graph. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_ownership
Core facts about a Danish company from the Central Business Register (CVR): name and secondary names, status (active, dissolved, under bankruptcy), legal form, founding date, address, industry, purpose, signing rules, share capital, latest employee count, contact details, production units (P-numbers), sanctions-list flag, an ongoing bankruptcy or reconstruction process from Statstidende, the latest going-concern disclosure, and Løvens Hule appearances. Use for "what is X", "what does X do", "when was X founded", "is X bankrupt" (an ongoing process), signing rules, share capital, P-numbers and contact details. Requires the CVR number (use find_company first if you only have a name). For only "is X still active" or "where is X located", find_company already returns the status and city. For the latest annual report use get_company_latest_financials, for current owners get_company_current_owners, for the current management get_company_current_management (all three work without signing in); for a complete picture get_company_dossier. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_profile
A Danish company's latest key ratios next to the medians of its industry (DB07 code), its postal area and the whole country: equity ratio, return on assets, current ratio, return on equity and gross profit per employee, each with the number of companies the median is based on, plus the share of companies with a loss or negative equity. Use for "how does X compare to its industry/competitors", "is X's equity ratio high or low for its sector". The company's ratios and the medians are calculated by Empiri from the reported figures, not reported by the companies. Empiri reports the numbers; it does not grade the company. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_benchmark
Everything Empiri has on one Danish company in a single call, by section: profile, financials (5 years, with ratios calculated by Empiri from the reported figures), ownership (owners, chain upwards, subsidiaries), management (current), management_history (incl. former), history (timeline), employment (series), properties, benchmark (industry/area medians). Use this for broad requests: "tell me everything about X", "do a thorough analysis of CVR 12345678", "investigate this company", "give me a full profile". Pick only the sections you need. Long lists return the first page; meta.pagination.<list>.continue_with_tool names the single-section tool to call with next_cursor for the rest. Sections that fail are listed in failed_sections rather than failing the whole call. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_dossier
Everything Empiri has on one Danish property in a single call, by section: profile, bbr (buildings, units, installations), valuations, trades, owners (current), area (the property compared with its road, city, municipality and the country, with a monthly price index), neighbours (properties on the same road and recent trades there), and events (BBR changes, trades and valuations as one timeline). Use for "tell me everything about this property/address", "full property report". Pick only the sections you need. Sections that fail are listed in failed_sections. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_property_dossier
Which Empiri account is connected and whether it currently has access to Empiri data in ChatGPT. Call this when a tool answers EMPIRI_PRO_REQUIRED or INTEGRATION_DISABLED, or when the user asks which account is connected. Takes no arguments.
get_account_status
Works without signing in to Empiri. The CURRENT management of a Danish company from CVR: the executive board (direktion: CEO and directors) and the board of directors (bestyrelse, or supervisory board) with chair, deputy chair and alternates, each with title, the date the person took up the role, and a person_id. Use this first for every question about the current management, for every user, with or without a connected Empiri account: "who runs X", "who is the CEO (managing director) of X", "who is the director of X", "who sits on the board of X", "who chairs the board of X", "the current management of X". This tool has no former directors or board members. Only management history ("who was on the board in 2021", "former directors", "management changes"), the registered auditor role, founders and other roles, or a person's other companies need get_company_management or the person tools, which require signing in to Empiri. A role is a formal registration, not proof of influence. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_current_management
Works without signing in to Empiri. Who owns a Danish company TODAY, according to the CVR owner register: the current registered owners (persons and companies) with capital share and voting share as CVR intervals, and when each current ownership was registered. Use this first for every question about who owns a company now, for every user, with or without a connected Empiri account: "who owns X", "who owns X now", "who is behind X", "the current owners of X", "who are X's shareholders", "is X owned by a holding company". This tool has no former owners. Only ownership history ("how has the ownership changed", "former owners"), the chain of owners upwards to the top, subsidiaries ("what does X own") or the whole group structure need get_company_ownership or get_ownership_graph, which require signing in to Empiri. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_current_owners
Fetch the content of a result id from search (company:<cvr>, person:<person_id> or property:<bfe>) as a document: a JSON text with the main facts, latest financial figures, owners and management (company), roles (person), or valuation, trades and owners (property), plus the Empiri URL, how current each source is (sources) and the caveats. Lists that are cut say so with a *_shown field; use the specific tools for the full lists.
fetch
Resolve a Danish street address to the property (BFE number) it belongs to. Use this whenever the user mentions an address ("Strandvejen 100, Hellerup", "the house on Bredgade 3") before calling the property tools. Returns up to 10 address candidates with address id, the BFE number of the property, property type, latest public valuation and living area, plus other properties at the same address (e.g. the flats in a building). Include the house number and postal code or city for a precise match. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
search_addresses
Works without signing in to Empiri. Use this FIRST whenever the user names a Danish company without a CVR number ("LEGO", "Novo Nordisk", "Normal A/S"): it turns the name into the CVR number every other company tool needs. Works for every user, with or without a connected Empiri account. Searches the Danish Central Business Register (CVR) by name or CVR number and returns at most 5 candidates with CVR, name, status, legal form, city and postal code, and a match type (identifier when a CVR was given, exact_name, or partial). Active and dissolved companies are both included, so it also answers "is X still active" and "where is X located". If several candidates are plausible, ask the user which one they mean instead of guessing. If the right company is not among them, ask for a more precise name or the CVR number. Only filtering (status, postal code, industry), sorting and paging through many companies need search_companies, which requires signing in to Empiri. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
find_company
Find how 2-5 Danish companies and/or persons are connected through registered CVR relations: roles (director, board member, owner as registered) and ownership between companies. Returns, for each pair, whether they are connected within the step limit and up to 3 shortest paths, each step saying who is registered as what in which company. Use for "how are X and Y connected", "do these companies have anything in common", "investigate the relations between these companies and persons". Auditor roles are excluded by default (an audit firm connects tens of thousands of companies). A path shows registrations, not control or influence. If search_truncated is true, "not connected" is not proof of no connection. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
find_connections
The FULL text of a Danish company's annual report, read from the document the company filed with the Danish Business Authority: management's review, the auditor's full report, accounting policies and every note (contingent liabilities, security and pledges, related parties, events after the balance sheet date, going concern, staff, tax, leases, subsidiaries, the sustainability statement). Default: the latest fiscal year; earlier years with fiscal_year. Use when the answer is in the report's wording rather than in its figures: "what does the annual report say about X", "are there contingent liabilities or guarantees", "who are the related parties", "what happened after the balance sheet date", "why did the auditor qualify the opinion", "what are the accounting policies", "summarise the annual report". The other tools only give the reported figures and the management's review. The text comes in parts of max_chars characters (default 30,000). Read on with offset = next_offset until next_offset is null. In a long report (large companies: 300,000-600,000 characters), search first: search returns up to 20 hits with their offset, page and an excerpt, and then read from a hit's offset. When pages are known, each page starts with a line [Side N]; cite page numbers from it. The text is verbatim and in the report's own language (Danish or English). For figures, prefer get_company_financials; table layout can be lost in the text. Scanned reports have no text (text_unavailable_reason). Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_annual_report
Aggregate statistics for Danish companies: for an industry (DB07 code), a postal area or the whole country - active companies, companies with annual reports, median equity ratio, return on assets, current ratio, return on equity and gross profit per employee (each with its sample size; Empiri calculates the ratios from the reported figures), share with a loss and with negative equity. Or, with kind "bankruptcies", the bankruptcy barometer from Statstidende: decrees in the last 30 days vs the previous 30, by industry, court and city. Use for "how is the construction industry doing", "typical equity ratio in this sector", "how many companies in 8000 Aarhus", "how many bankruptcies lately". Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_market_statistics
Works without signing in to Empiri. The figures from a Danish company's LATEST fiscal year only, from the annual report filed with the Danish Business Authority (XBRL): revenue, gross profit, operating profit (EBIT), net profit, equity, total assets, cash, liabilities, employees, calculated ratios (equity ratio, margins, return on assets and equity, current ratio, EBITDA), the auditor's statement type, any modified opinion or going-concern note, and a link to the report PDF. Optionally the full income statement and balance sheet for that year. Use this first for every question about the latest annual report, for every user, with or without a connected Empiri account: "what was X's revenue/profit/equity last year", "what did X earn", "is X profitable", "how many employees did X have in its last annual report", "who audited X's latest annual report", "did the auditor qualify X's latest report". This tool never returns earlier years. Only development over several years, a specific earlier fiscal year, group accounts, interim reports or the management's review need get_company_financials, which requires signing in to Empiri. Amounts are whole units of the report's currency; null means not reported (small companies often do not report revenue). The ratios are calculated by Empiri from the reported figures with fixed formulas (e.g. equity ratio = equity / total assets); the company did not report them, and they can differ from the key ratios in the company's own annual report. Requires the CVR number (use find_company first if you only have a name). Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_latest_financials
Fetch key facts and key financial figures for up to 50 Danish companies by CVR number in one call: name, status, legal form, industry, city, founding date, employees, and for each of the last N fiscal years revenue, gross profit, EBIT, net profit, equity, total assets, employees and equity ratio (calculated by Empiri from the reported figures, not reported by the company); optionally current owners, with shares as the intervals registered in CVR. Use for professional batch work: "compare these 15 companies over five years", "here are 50 CVR numbers, get revenue, profit, equity and owner", building a dataset or a comparison table. Each company has its own found/error_code, so one unknown CVR does not fail the batch. Amounts are in each year's own currency; check currency before comparing. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
batch_companies
Key facts for up to 50 Danish properties by BFE number in one call: type, location, living and weighted area, latest public valuation, latest sale, current company owners (CVR) and the number of private owners. Use for portfolio work: "compare these properties", "get valuation and last sale for these BFE numbers", building a property dataset. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
batch_properties
The full ownership structure around a Danish company or a person as a graph (nodes and owner→owned edges with capital and voting shares), the same structure as Empiri's ownership diagram. For a company, view "full" starts at the top controlling owner(s) and includes all active companies below (up to 20 levels); "branch" is only the chain upwards plus the company's own subsidiaries. For a person, the graph shows the companies the person owns and their structure (empty when the person has no registered ownership; use get_person_roles for roles). Use for "show the whole group structure", "how is the group organised", "map X's holdings". Shares on the edges are the intervals registered in CVR, not estimates by Empiri; never add them up. Shortcut edges (a person's indirect share registered alongside the holding company's) are removed. Give exactly one of cvr or person_id. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_ownership_graph
Overview of a person's registered business life in Denmark from CVR: name, city, the company they are best known from, how many companies and roles they have (current and total), whether they are an auditor, registered relations to companies that went bankrupt (split by whether the person was registered at the time), and other persons with the same name. Use for "who is X", "what is X known for", "has X been involved in bankruptcies". Needs the person_id (search_persons first). Only registered roles are shown; the street address is never included. A registration in a bankrupt company is a fact, not a judgement of responsibility. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_person_profile
Real estate currently owned by a Danish company according to the Danish ownership register (EJF): each property's BFE number, type, address, ownership fraction and latest public valuation, plus totals for the whole portfolio. Use for "what properties does X own", "X's real estate portfolio", "is X a property company". Use the property tools with the BFE number for details on each property. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_company_properties
Current and former owners of a Danish property from the ownership register (EJF), with ownership fraction and acquisition date. Company owners are shown in full with CVR (look them up with the company tools); private owners are shown with first name only, and not at all when name-protected - this is Empiri's privacy rule and cannot be changed. Use for "who owns the property/house/building", "which company owns this address", "previous owners". Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_property_owners
Core facts about a Danish property (BFE number or an address id from search_addresses): property type (house, owner-occupied flat, building on leased land), address, municipality, cadastre, main use, living and weighted area, latest public valuation, energy label with improvement proposals, parcels with zoning and protections, soil contamination, the main property for a flat, and other properties at the same address. Use for "what do we know about this address/house", "how big is the house", "what is the energy label", "is the plot contaminated". For buildings use get_property_bbr, for prices get_property_trades and get_property_valuations, for owners get_property_owners, for everything get_property_dossier. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_property_profile
Registered sales of a Danish property from the land registry (EJF): date, purchase agreement date, price, movables, and type of sale (open market, family transfer, other). Newest first. Use for "what was the house last sold for", "sales history of the property", "when was it bought and for how much". Only "Fri handel" (open market) reflects market prices; a price can be a package price for several properties. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_property_trades
The public property valuations (ejendomsvurdering) of a Danish property, year by year back to the early 2000s: property value, land value, owner-dwelling value, assessed area and use. Use for "what is the property valued at", "how has the valuation developed". A valuation is an administrative estimate, not a price; for actual prices use get_property_trades. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
get_property_valuations
Search and filter Danish companies in Empiri (all companies in the Danish Central Business Register, CVR) by name or CVR number, with filters and paging. To turn one company name into a CVR number, use find_company first: it works with or without signing in. Use search_companies when you need more: filters by status, postal code or industry ("active bakeries in 8000 Aarhus"), many results with paging, or richer candidates. Returns candidates with CVR, name, status, legal form, city, industry, employees and latest equity, plus a match type: identifier (a CVR was given), exact_name, or partial. If several candidates are plausible, ask the user which one they mean instead of guessing. Filter by status, postal code or DB07 industry code. Not for persons (use search_persons) or addresses (use search_addresses). Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).
search_companies
Search Empiri's Danish company, person and address data with one query. Returns result ids (company:<cvr>, person:<person_id>, property:<bfe>) with a title and the Empiri URL; get the content with fetch. Prefer the specific tools (find_company, search_persons, search_addresses and the get_* tools) in normal conversations.
search
Find people registered in the Danish Central Business Register (CVR) as directors, board members, founders, owners or auditors, by name. Use this before get_person_profile / get_person_roles when the user names a person ("Lars Larsen", "the CEO of X"). Many people share a name (PR-01): every candidate has a person_id, city, current role and main company so you can tell them apart. Never assume two candidates are the same person, and ask the user if it is unclear. Only people with a registered business role are in Empiri; this is not a general people search. Always end your answer with the Empiri link (meta.empiri_url) and the date the data is current as of (meta.sources[].data_as_of).

How the directory, categories and Discoverability Score work.
Read the methodologyHow do I improve Empiri's ChatGPT Plugin discoverability?
The levers are the listing surface agents actually read: names, descriptions, keywords, tool metadata, and registry health. Which lever matters depends on where discovery breaks, which is what continuous measurement shows.
Where is this profile measured?
This profile uses the geography attached to the latest public registry snapshot: US. Locale tags are intentionally omitted.
