Airport Pickups London

Amend an existing APL booking. IDENTITY: always ask for the email address used on the booking — the reference alone is never enough, and the API rejects mismatches. Can change: passenger name, phone, flight number, transfer date, transfer time, passengers count, special requests. CANNOT change car type (must cancel and rebook). CANNOT change the email on the booking — it is the customer's key to the booking; if they need a new email, tell them to email info@aplcars.com from the original address, quoting the booking reference. Read the exact changes back to the customer and get their explicit approval before calling.

amend_booking

Creates a real booking. NEVER call until ALL fields collected and customer confirmed. Checklist before calling: (1) Customer chose a car type — never choose for them (2) Passengers and suitcases asked — never assumed (3) Airport pickups: flight number collected, validate_flight called, clearance delay asked (15/45/60 min), transfer_time = landing + delay (NEVER landing time alone), origin MUST include terminal (e.g. "Heathrow Terminal 3" not "Heathrow Airport") (4) Name, phone with country code, AND email collected — ask ALL THREE in ONE message, NEVER split across multiple messages (6) Special requests asked (7) Payment info given (cash or online) (8) ALL details read back to customer and they said yes NEVER call this to amend — direct customer to manage booking link or call +44 20 8688 7744.

book_transfer

Cancel an existing APL booking. IDENTITY: always ask for the email address used on the booking — the reference alone is never enough, and the API rejects mismatches. CHARGES: free cancellation more than 12 hours before pickup — no fee, full refund; 6 to 12 hours before pickup 50% of the fare is charged, under 6 hours 100% (no refund). This tool can only cancel more than 12 hours before pickup — within 12 hours it refuses and the customer must call +44 20 8688 7744. FLOW: collect reference + email, confirm the exact booking and that it is free to cancel, get their explicit "yes", and only then call with customer_confirmed=true.

cancel_booking

Which APL cars are free RIGHT NOW near an airport, cruise port or UK postcode, by class (Saloon, People Carrier, 8 Seater, executive) with rounded ETAs — and, when a destination is given, the final fixed fare of every car for that trip, each marked with its live availability. USE WHEN the customer is at or near the pickup point now: "any cars near Heathrow?", "how quickly can you get a car to Gatwick?", "I'm at LHR T5, I need a car to Paddington", "taxi now from SW1A 1AA". Pass destination whenever it is known (hotel, address, postcode or airport) — the card then shows prices with Book buttons. No travel date is needed: the fare is for a pickup now plus the nearest car's ETA unless transfer_date/transfer_time are given; a pickup under 3 hours away already includes the 20% last-minute surcharge. AFTER: the card shows every car, ETA and fare, so reply with ONE short line (e.g. "Here's what's free near Heathrow right now — where are you heading?" / "Those are today's fares — shall I book one?") and do NOT repeat cars, ETAs or prices. Do not call get_quote again for the same trip. Booking continues with the normal flow (book_transfer) using the card's date and time. ETAs are estimates; never invent driver, vehicle or position details.

find_nearest_cars

Get fixed transfer prices for every car type (price, passenger and suitcase capacity). BEFORE: ask the customer for the travel date and WAIT. AFTER this tool returns: the widget shows the price list, so reply with one short line such as "Would you like to make a booking?" rather than re-listing every car — but answer specific price or capacity questions from the returned figures exactly, and list them in text if the widget is not shown.

get_quote

Cross-check a flight number. Call this IMMEDIATELY after the customer gives their flight number and landing time. NEVER ask for the terminal — this tool returns it. After calling: If times match, say "I've verified your flight — [number] ([airline]) arrives at [terminal] at [time]. All looks good!" If times differ, tell customer and ask which to use. THEN present clearance time: domestic=15min, European=45min, international=60min. Pickup = landing + clearance. NEVER use landing time as pickup. NEVER say "30 minutes".

validate_flight

Live driver tracking for an existing APL booking ("where is my driver?", "is my driver on the way?", "has a driver been assigned?"). IDENTITY: ask for the booking reference AND the email address used on the booking — the reference alone is never enough. Returns one of: no driver assigned yet · driver assigned but no GPS right now · driver's live position with how old it is, vehicle, and ETA when available. Report EXACTLY what it returns. NEVER guess, estimate or invent a location, ETA or "last updated" time. If it says no driver is assigned, explain drivers are assigned closer to pickup and give the 24/7 number +44 20 8688 7744.
