Description

Ask Zoe helps you find and understand Australian law. Ask which Act or section covers a problem, read a section of legislation with links to the official source, look up a High Court, Federal Court or NSW court decision, find a plain-English guide to everyday problems like rental bonds, unpaid wages or debt collectors, and see a short list of law firms and free legal services in your city. What it covers: Commonwealth, NSW, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmanian legislation text; links and details for Victoria, the ACT and the Northern Territory; about 160,000 decisions of the High Court, the Federal Court and NSW courts and tribunals, with the judgment text where Zoe is licensed to show it, and more courts being added; about 45 plain-English guides; law firm listings and free options for 14 Australian cities. What it is not: Zoe gives general legal information, not legal advice, and ZoeLaw is not a law firm. It covers Australian law only. Court decisions from other courts are not covered, and some decisions show details only, with no judgment text. Zoe does not draft legal documents or predict outcomes. Legislation and judgment text may not be the latest or official version; every result says where it came from and links to the official source where one is known. No account is needed. Zoe records which tool was called, the area of law or jurisdiction and how many results came back. It does not store what you asked. To match a topic to court decisions, the words of that search are sent to an AI service that turns them into numbers for matching; they are not kept.
