Use Custodis Token mode in three steps: Add document, Check & share, Use answer. It automatically replaces detected private details with tokens on your device. Review the exact text, approve it, then send it to ChatGPT. Paste the reply into the same open workspace to restore the real details locally. Review private details and consistent tokens side by side. Click an original value to hide or show it locally while keeping it protected. Click the red × beside a token for explicit choices to protect or share one occurrence or all matching occurrences, then approve the exact final text. If the workspace asks to confirm access, connect an existing Custodis account. Connecting shares your Custodis account email address with ChatGPT. Your original document and token map are not shared by this workflow. Open a PDF (scans included), text-only Word .docx or UTF-8 .txt file, or paste text, inside Custodis. Direct JPEG/PNG uploads and legacy .doc files are not supported. The Custodis engine reads it on your device, including on-device OCR for scanned PDF pages, and replaces the hidden names, numbers and contact details with consistent tokens while keeping the context the task needs. Check every page: detected details are shown as black boxes; click a detected box for local details and explicit choices. Draw a box to hide more; clicking a drawn box removes it. If Custodis cannot verify hidden-word positions on a scan, review its recognized text instead of page boxes. Review the exact protected text, then choose to share it with ChatGPT. Save redacted PDFs in the standalone Custodis app; this plugin does not upload or download document files. When the answer comes back, paste it into the same Custodis workspace to restore the real details locally on your device. Your original document, token map, and restored answer stay on your device in this workflow: Custodis servers do not receive them, and only the text you explicitly approve is sent to ChatGPT. If you later share the restored answer yourself, that separate action shares its real details. The first document downloads the Custodis engine files (about 50 MB) once. Detection and OCR can miss or misread details, so review all pages and text before sharing. Keep the workspace open until you have copied your answer; closing or clearing it removes its in-memory token map. Token maps cannot be saved, exported, imported, backed up or recovered by this plugin; a new workspace cannot restore an earlier answer. This initial integration is intended for ordinary business documents, not medical records, government identifiers, payment-card data, or authentication secrets.

Open Custodis to tokenize sensitive details locally on the user’s device before sharing protected text with ChatGPT, then restore the real details on that device. Use this plugin only for ordinary business documents; do not use it for protected health information, government identifiers, payment-card data or authentication secrets. The user can try two own documents before Custodis sign-in; fictional examples are unlimited. Existing Basic, Personal, Pro and Team accounts have Basic document-workflow capabilities in this plugin; Personal and Pro features stay in standalone Custodis software. Inside the workspace the user opens a PDF (scans included), text-only Word .docx or UTF-8 .txt file, or pastes text; direct JPEG/PNG uploads and legacy .doc files are unsupported. Custodis reads it on the device (on-device OCR for scanned PDF pages), shows Token mode replacements and protected pages, lets the user reveal originals locally while keeping them protected, offers explicit changes for one occurrence or all matching occurrences, and shares only the exact text the user finally approves. If hidden-word positions on a scan cannot be verified, the workspace uses recognized-text review instead of page boxes. File export is available in the standalone Custodis app. The original, token map and restored answer stay local in this workflow. The token map exists only in the active workspace; this plugin cannot save, export, import, back up or recover token maps. After closing or clearing that workspace, or in a new workspace, earlier answers cannot be restored. Do not suggest using a saved token map. Takes no document, file, text, question, or token-map arguments. The user selects a local file inside Custodis; do not request that the original be attached to the conversation. If interactive UI is unavailable, explain that local protection requires the Custodis workspace. Do not claim a document has been protected merely because this tool opened. Do not call it, even when the user names Custodis, if the request needs something this workspace cannot do: uploading an original or token map to a Custodis server, restoring an answer on a server, recovering a token map from a closed or earlier workspace, IRS tax-form templates, or saving/downloading/uploading a document file inside this plugin. Do not call it when the user says not to open or start a workspace. Instead, explain the limitation in plain text and offer to open Custodis only if the user then wants the supported local workflow.
