Description
Cut the Cake makes invitation pages that guests can RSVP to, for events people host themselves: a birthday dinner, an anniversary party, a reunion, a tasting at a venue. Give this plugin what you know about the event (a title, a date and time, a place, a short description) and it returns a link. Opening the link shows the invitation with those details in place. That first step needs no account. Once the host starts the event and signs in, they choose on Cut the Cake which events the plugin may open and what it may do. It can then read and change those events: the title, date, time and place; the wording; the colors, type and cover photo; the host's own sections and the menu; which features are on, such as a photo booth, song requests or a potluck list; and who can come. It can add guests from names and email addresses the host provides, and write a message to guests that is left as a draft. Where the host allows it, it can report how many people are coming, show the host their guest list in the chat, or read guests' names and answers. The host watches each change appear on their own screen. It is for anyone hosting an event who wants replies collected in one place and would rather shape the invitation in a conversation than in a form. Limitations: the plugin does not produce an image, a card or a PDF. It never sends an invitation or a message, never deletes anything, and never gives the assistant a guest's email address, phone number or note (a guest list the host asks to see is drawn for the host alone). It cannot publish on its own: publishing is the host's own press, on a button in the chat or on Cut the Cake. It keeps working on an event after it is published only where the host chose that, and a change there shows to guests right away; moving a published event's date, time or place is put to the host first. A connection ends when the host removes it, and after 30 days in any case.
