Create presigned upload URLs for clients that need to upload local media files before registering them in the Dash Social library. Use this tool only if the client can make HTTP PUT requests. Upload each file's raw bytes to its upload_url with the matching Content-Type header, then pass the corresponding media_url to upload_media. Pass the same filename to upload_media to preserve the original name in Library metadata. If the client cannot make PUT requests, provide public media URLs directly instead.
create_media_upload_urls
Schedule a social post as a draft for a single Dash Social brand. The post is always created in DRAFT state and cannot publish while it remains a draft. Default auto_publish to true unless the user requests notification/manual publishing or a supplied detail requires another value. Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat require post_type: IG FEED/STORY/REEL, FB POST/REEL, Snapchat STORY/SPOTLIGHT. LinkedIn, Threads, and Bluesky require text or media. Snapchat Spotlight requires snapchat_locale and snapchat_save_to_profile. Pinterest requires pinterest_board and title. YouTube requires title when scheduled_timestamp is provided. reviewer_user_ids requests reviewers; Scheduler validates eligibility for the brand. auto_publish=true goes live automatically at the scheduled time after leaving DRAFT. Manual publishing (auto_publish=false) supports only Instagram/Facebook/TikTok/X/Pinterest. Snapchat and YouTube require exactly one media ID on create and when replacing media on edit. Use only details fields supported by the selected platform. details.text is the Instagram caption, Facebook message, X status, Snapchat Spotlight/YouTube description, Pinterest note, or native text. Title applies to TikTok photos and YouTube/Pinterest (max 100 chars). destination_link applies to Instagram Story/Pinterest; Instagram Story links require auto_publish=false. Brand UTMs are applied automatically to URLs in Facebook/X details.text and to Instagram Story/Pinterest details.destination_link. First comments and locations apply to IG Feed/Reel or FB Post/Reel. Instagram collaborators and people tags apply to Feed/Reel. Feed people tags require x/y; Reel people tags omit coordinates. First comments, collaborators, people tags, and shopping tags publish only with auto_publish=true. Shopping tags apply to IG Feed/Reel; use 0.5 for video coordinates. Optional title/image_url come from the selected product; catalog_id comes from the search result's catalog. cover_image_media_id selects a Library image for an IG/FB Reel cover. facebook_audience_country_codes restricts the Facebook audience. snapchat_locale and snapchat_save_to_profile apply only to Spotlight. youtube_declared_made_for_kids is the YouTube kids flag. pinterest_board is a native Pinterest board: only id and name from get_pinterest_boards. Content tags are unavailable for Bluesky and Snapchat Story. Campaigns support Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest, and YouTube. When referencing a post that has a dash_url, present the dash_url as a markdown link so the user can open the post in Dash Social. If dash_url is null, do not construct or guess a URL.
schedule_post
Create a saved Social Listening topic from a validated search body.
create_topic
Delete a scheduled post for a single Dash Social brand and social channel. This removes the post from the scheduler. Posts with status POSTED, AUTOPUBLISHING, or IMPORTED cannot be deleted.
delete_scheduled_post
Edit one scheduled post for a single Dash Social brand and channel. Change auto_publish only when explicitly requested or required by another supplied field; no null. Omit unchanged fields. Empty lists clear, subject to platform media requirements; reviewer_user_ids_to_add must be nonempty. In details, empty values clear. Null clears Snapchat/YouTube text, TikTok title, destination_link, location_id, and cover_image_media_id; Pinterest text stays unchanged. Other details nulls are invalid. reviewer_user_ids_to_add preserves existing reviewers and adds each ID once; Scheduler validates eligibility for the brand. approval_required=true requires reviewer approvals before publishing; locking without reviewers awaits assignment. approval_required=false unlocks, preserving reviewers and approval records. details, media_ids, content_tag_ids, reviewer_user_ids_to_add, and approval_required do not accept null. auto_publish=true goes live automatically at the scheduled time after leaving DRAFT. Manual publishing (auto_publish=false) supports only Instagram/Facebook/TikTok/X/Pinterest. Snapchat and YouTube require exactly one media ID on create and when replacing media on edit. Use only details fields supported by the selected platform. details.text is the Instagram caption, Facebook message, X status, Snapchat Spotlight/YouTube description, Pinterest note, or native text. Title applies to TikTok photos and YouTube/Pinterest (max 100 chars). destination_link applies to Instagram Story/Pinterest; Instagram Story links require auto_publish=false. If dash_url is null, do not construct or guess a URL.
edit_scheduled_post
Fetch a paid ads metric report from Dash Social. Use this tool to retrieve Meta Ads or TikTok Ads metric values over a date range. Paid ads are promoted through ad campaigns and accounts, unlike organic posts published directly to a brand's social profiles. Before calling this tool, call search_metrics with usage="aggregate_report" and channels set to the same channels you will pass here. Use a returned metric_key in metrics and choose aggregate_by from that metric's aggregate_by_options. Use search_ad_campaigns to populate source_campaigns.
fetch_ads_metric_report
Fetch a paid ads timeseries metric report from Dash Social. Use this tool to retrieve how Meta Ads or TikTok Ads metric values trend over a date range. Paid ads are promoted through ad campaigns and accounts, unlike organic posts published directly to a brand's social profiles. The response contains dashboard metric data or identifies when no ad campaigns are accessible or Dash Social could not find valid ad accounts. Prefer metric keys and aggregate_by values returned by search_metrics for the same ads channel and time_series_report usage.
fetch_ads_timeseries_metric_report
Fetch how a Dash Social campaign performed, covering owned content, creator content and paid ads in one call. Use this for a campaign's results - reach, engagement, spend, or progress against a goal. It reports the campaign as a whole; it does not list the individual posts in it. Paid figures cover only ad campaigns that have been linked to this Dash Social campaign, and creator figures always cover the campaign's whole lifetime rather than the requested dates. Each section reports separately whether it could be fetched, so an empty section can be told apart from one that failed.
fetch_campaign_performance
Fetch a competitive metric report from Dash Social. Use this tool to compare owned brands against saved competitors for one social channel over a date range. It can fetch specific competitors or all saved competitors for the selected brand and channel. This tool returns normalized rows for owned brands, competitors, and the competitor average. Prefer metric keys, aggregate values, and aggregate_by values returned by search_metrics for the same channel and report family.
fetch_competitive_metric_report
Fetch a competitive timeseries metric report from Dash Social. Use this tool to retrieve how competitive metric values trend over a date range for one social channel. It can fetch specific competitors or all saved competitors for the selected brand and channel. The response contains dashboard timeseries data for the requested brands, competitors, channel, metrics, and date buckets. Prefer metric keys, aggregate values, and aggregate_by values returned by search_metrics for the same channel and report family.
fetch_competitive_timeseries_metric_report
Fetch data for one saved performance dashboard over a reporting period and comparison period.
fetch_dashboard_summary
Fetch a metric report from Dash Social. Use this tool to retrieve metric values (such as totals or grouped totals) for one or more brands, channels, and metrics over a date range. Supports both owned channels (content the brand publishes on its own accounts) and UGC/earned channels (content created by others, that tags or mentions the brand). This tool also covers community-inbox metrics (such as messages received, reply rate, and response time). For those metrics you may pass community_filters (sentiment, message types, message tags, assignees) and break results down via aggregate_by (SENTIMENT, ASSIGNEE, MESSAGE_TAG, MESSAGE_TYPE). Use get_community_interaction_tags to resolve message tag IDs. The response may include nested entries keyed by brand id with metric values and (when applicable) context values. Prefer metric keys, aggregate values, and aggregate_by values returned by search_metrics for the same channels and report family. Note: SENTIMENT breakdowns and filters only cover scored messages, so their counts can sum to less than the total — never infer a sentiment's count by subtracting the others.
fetch_metric_report
Fetch a timeseries metric report from Dash Social. Use this tool to retrieve how metric values trend over a date range. Supports both owned channels (content the brand publishes on its own accounts) and UGC/earned channels (content created by others, that tags or mentions the brand). This tool also covers community-inbox metrics (such as messages received, reply rate, and response time) over time. The response contains dashboard timeseries data for the requested brands, channels, metrics, and date buckets. Prefer metric keys, aggregate values, and aggregate_by values returned by search_metrics for the same channels and report family. Note: SENTIMENT breakdowns and filters only cover scored messages, so their counts can sum to less than the total — never infer a sentiment's count by subtracting the others.
fetch_timeseries_metric_report
Convert a natural-language Social Listening request into a validated Listening search body. This tool only generates the search body; it does not execute a search or retrieve data.
generate_search_body
Get the best times to post for a single Dash Social brand on a single social platform. Returns recommended weekly posting slots (weekday + hour) derived from roughly the last 90 days of the brand's own post engagement, ordered from highest to lowest engagement. Slots recur every week, so convert a chosen slot into a concrete future date and time before scheduling a post. Weekday and hour are expressed in the timezone returned in the result. Covers one platform per call; call again for each additional platform you want to compare.
get_best_times_to_post
Look up the interaction tags (also called message tags) that teams apply to community inbox interactions such as comments and DMs. Returns each tag's internal ID and name so they can be mapped to one another. Use this when a user references a tag by name, or when community data is grouped by tag ID and you need the human-readable names.
get_community_interaction_tags
Fetches word frequency counts or hashtag frequency counts from community interactions (comments, DMs, mentions, etc.) on a brand's social media posts. Each keyword includes a total count and a sentiment breakdown (positive, negative, neutral).
get_community_keywords
Fetch community messages (comments, DMs, mentions) for one or more Dash Social brands. Returns per message: interaction ID, link to Dash Social, interaction type (e.g. INSTAGRAM_COMMENT, INSTAGRAM_CONVERSATION), text snippet, author handle, conversation ID for DMs, sentiment label, assignee, tags, triggered automation rules, and brand name. Includes replied, hidden, deleted, liked, and closed states for grouping by how messages have been handled. These are current states, not a complete action history; null states are unavailable, not false. Use this to search, analyze, or summarize community interactions by date range, keyword, sentiment, type, or available author profile attributes. query: keywords (max 50 characters each), or one author filter: from:handle (exact/prefix), from:'handle' (exact). STORY_MENTION, STORY_REPLY, REEL_SHARE and POST_SHARE narrow Instagram DMs by origin; INSTAGRAM_CONVERSATION includes all Instagram DMs. is_hidden covers current comment visibility, including team, automation and platform hiding; false means not hidden. Omit unless requested. It excludes DMs and later-deleted comments; dates filter message updates, not hiding time. is_verified, account_type and is_sent_by_brand_creator are ORed: an author matching any one of them is included, so requiring several at once is not supported. Follower count bounds are ANDed with them. account_type business_account is "Professional" in Dash.
get_community_messages
Look up Dash Social users who have access to one or more brands. Use this when you need to resolve a person's name to a user ID before taking a follow-up action — assigning a community task, setting a scheduled post approver, or any other workflow that requires a user ID. Supports case-insensitive partial name matching. Returns id and full_name for each user.
get_dash_social_users
Fetch aggregate Social Listening stats for an organization: totals for posts, engagements, and impressions, per-post averages, and sentiment counts. Use it when the user asks for overall totals or summary metrics.
get_listening_stats
Get the Product Links attached to one Library media item for a brand.
get_media_product_links
List the brand's native Pinterest boards, which are publishing destinations on Pinterest itself. Use this tool only when creating or editing a Pinterest Pin. Pass the selected board's ID and name as details.pinterest_board to the scheduler tool. Dash Social boards are internal collections used to organize and report on content; use search_galleries to find those.
get_pinterest_boards
Fetch aggregate Social Listening post volume (or a metric total) broken down by one or two dimensions. Use a secondary breakdown only when the user explicitly asks for one dimension broken down by another. At most two dimensions are supported per call. If the user asks for more than two dimensions in one combined breakdown, break down by the two most relevant, tell them the others were not applied, and do not make extra filtered calls to synthesize additional dimensions.
get_post_volume
Fetch Social Listening post volume (or a metric total) as a time series: totals bucketed over time and broken down by one or two dimensions. Use it when the user asks how something trended over time, or about spikes, dips, or changes across a period. For a single point-in-time total with no time axis, use get_post_volume instead. At most two breakdown dimensions are supported. Very large requests error out and ask for a coarser scale, fewer dimensions, or a shorter range.
get_post_volume_time_series
Identify the terms driving a Social Listening conversation.
get_top_keywords
Get one saved Social Listening topic's full configuration and collection state.
get_topic
Get one saved Social Listening topic comparison and the topics it includes.
get_topic_comparison
Lists all brands the authenticated user has access to. Returns each brand's id, name, and organization_id. Call this tool when the user asks which brands they have access to, or when you need a brand id to pass to another tool.
list_accessible_brands
List scheduler posts for a single Dash Social brand and social channel. Scheduled posts are sorted by scheduled time, from soonest to latest. Unscheduled posts are sorted by their order in Dash Social. When referencing a post that has a dash_url, present the dash_url as a markdown link so the user can open the post in Dash Social. If dash_url is null, do not construct or guess a URL.
list_scheduled_posts
List the saved Social Listening topic comparisons visible to the specified brand, and the topics in each. Use it to resolve a comparison name to its id before requesting comparison-scoped data.
list_topic_comparisons
List the saved Social Listening topics for an organization. Use it to resolve a topic name to its id before requesting topic-scoped data. By default the response is a lean shape; request the full topic configuration only when you need it. Social Listening is organization-scoped, not brand-scoped.
list_topics
Search paid ad campaigns that a brand runs on one ad platform, so they can be found by name or delivery status. Returns each campaign's identifiers alongside its name, status, and the name of the ad account that owns it. These are paid advertising campaigns from the ad platforms, not campaigns created inside Dash Social to group Library content. Searches one platform per call. A brand may have Meta Ads connected and not TikTok Ads, or the reverse, so search each platform you need and read the returned status before concluding a brand has no campaigns. Only campaigns from ad accounts already connected to the brand are visible. Results can include campaigns marked DELETED; do not present them as currently available campaigns or use them for metric reports. On TikTok Ads, deletion depends on TikTok having reported it, so a campaign deleted long ago or on an unmonitored ad account can still show up as if it were live.
search_ad_campaigns
List the individual ads running under known Meta Ads or TikTok Ads campaigns, with each ad's identity, creative, status and lifetime metrics. Use it to find which specific ads drove a campaign's results. Ads are always scoped to campaign IDs, so find the campaigns with search_ad_campaigns first. Metrics are lifetime totals under each platform's own metric names, and the two platforms do not report the same set. Meta Ads and TikTok Ads are searched separately.
search_ads
Look up brand tags that can be used to report on a group of brands at once. Brand tags are organization-level groupings of brands (e.g. by region or portfolio).
search_brand_tags
Resolve competitors that brands already track in Dash Social. Use this when a client needs competitor source account IDs for downstream competitive reports, benchmarking, or competitor media filters. Results only include accounts already saved on the requested Dash Social brands; this is not discovery or autocomplete for new external accounts. Search terms match saved account handles only. For TikTok, RESOLVED and STALE competitors are ready for reporting, unless the account is private (is_private), whose posts cannot be fetched; treat a private competitor as not reportable even when RESOLVED or STALE. PENDING and INACCESSIBLE competitors remain visible but must not be used for reports or media filters. INVALID competitors are removed and do not appear in results.
search_competitors
Look up content tags that can be used to filter data or content.
search_content_tags
Search campaigns created in Dash Social for a brand.
search_campaigns
Search galleries or boards created in Dash Social for a brand. Galleries are general-purpose content collections; Dash Social boards are channel-specific collections used to organize and report on content. Use this tool to find Dash Social boards for any channel. Dash Social boards are distinct from the native Pinterest publishing destinations returned by get_pinterest_boards.
search_galleries
Search dashboards the user can access in Dash Social. Use this to resolve a dashboard name to its ID before working with dashboard-specific data. Supports case-insensitive partial name matching and returns a compact dashboard summary, including the reports on each dashboard in the order they appear on the grid.
search_dashboards
Search Instagram Shopping products available to a brand's connected Instagram account. The first eligible catalog is selected automatically, as in Dash Social. Use this for Instagram Shopping Tags, not Library Products or Product Links. Results may include rejected products. Check review_status; products marked "rejected" (case-insensitive) cannot be selected for Instagram Shopping tags. Clearly identify this restriction when displaying them, and do not recommend them for tagging.
search_instagram_shopping_products
Search products a brand has imported into Dash Social
search_products
Search Social Listening for public social posts.
search_listening_posts
Find locations for Instagram or Facebook scheduled posts. Choose whether the location will tag a post or limit a Facebook post's audience.
search_locations
Search Dash Social metrics for report keys and post sort fields. Searches metric definitions, not brand data. An empty result means no matching metric definitions, not that no posts were published or no activity occurred. For aggregate or time-series reports, pass metric_key to the matching report tool. Use the ads report tools for META_ADS and TIKTOK_ADS. For usage="sorting_posts", metric_key is the dashboard content metric key and sort_metric_key is the library sort field for search_posts. Never pass metric_key to search_posts. When multiple channels are requested, results only include metrics comparable across every channel in the search. Each result includes aggregate_by_options for choosing an optional grouping dimension. Benchmark search results are only for industry benchmark reporting; never pass them to fetch_metric_report or fetch_timeseries_metric_report. When a result includes aggregate="AVERAGE", pass both result.metric_key and result.aggregate to the matching fetch tool. Use averageable=true to limit results to metrics that can be averaged with aggregate=AVERAGE or metrics dashboard already defines as averages. Before fetching a report, check each metric's max_date_range_days against both the reporting and comparison periods, counting start and end dates inclusively. Omit metrics whose limit is exceeded in either period, explain the omissions, and continue with the remaining metrics. If none remain, explain that the requested report is unavailable. Keep the requested dates; do not substitute metrics or combine shorter-period values to bypass a limit. Each result may include timeframe metadata describing how the report date range applies to that metric.
search_metrics
Search social posts and uploaded media across Dash Social brands. Use this when you need to find matching owned, UGC, saved competitor, or uploaded media and inspect post-level metadata, captions, URLs, media details, or available metrics. Results are sorted by date by default. Fuzzy searches without metric sorting rank by relevance instead. To sort by a performance metric, first call search_metrics with usage="sorting_posts" for the same channel surface, then pass the returned sort_metric_key. When sorting competitor posts, use the competitive channel variant in search_metrics.
search_posts
Find Library media tagged with a Product Link by its exact product destination URL. Use search_products first when you have a product name or external Product ID instead of its URL.
search_product_media
Add, move, or remove Product Links on one Library media item for a brand. This is a delta update: only supplied Product IDs are changed, and every unspecified Product Link is preserved. Visibility is set when a Product Link is first added and preserved when it is moved.
update_media_product_links
Update a saved Social Listening topic's name or search configuration.
update_topic
Upload image or video URLs to one or more Dash Social brand libraries. Each item is attached to every requested brand and processed independently. Use the returned media IDs when scheduling, and retry only the failed items.
upload_media
