get_entscheidsuche_citations

Fetch metadata for one Swiss cantonal/federal law document from LexFind.ch by LexFind ID. Output: systematic number, title, keywords, category, canton, active status, current version (dates), original_url (official source, HTML or PDF) and lexfind_url (LexFind's PDF copy). Pass version_id (from list_cantonal_law_versions) to pin a historical version: you then get that version's dates, title and lexfind_url only (original_url always points at the current text and is omitted). Use search_cantonal_law first to find the document ID.

Fetch the full text of a Swiss court decision (ruling, judgment, Entscheid). Accepts a case signature, BGE/ATF/DTF citation, or docket number like 6B_123/2022. WARNING: format=json returns metadata only (no ruling text). Always specify format=text to answer questions about case content. signature accepts an Entscheidsuche internal ID or a citation like 6B_123/2022 or BGE 127 IV 10. format: text (decision body, default) | json (metadata only) | html (raw HTML, paginated). Use offset and max_chars for paging text/html. Response includes has_more and next_offset.

get_entscheidsuche_document

Fetch one article from a Swiss federal statute by statute ELI URI or version URI. article accepts values like 28, 28a, or Art. 28. Use as_of (YYYY-MM-DD) for historical retrieval, or version_uri to pin one exact version. Obtain version_uri from list_fedlex_versions (choose an entry with has_text=true). For historical comparison: call list_fedlex_versions to identify applicable version URIs, then call get_fedlex_article twice — once with version_uri for the historical version, once without for current. as_of accepts YYYY-MM-DD; for year-level queries use end-of-year (e.g. 2015-12-31). If you only have a statute name, call resolve_fedlex_statute first.

Return a compact statute outline for a Swiss federal statute. Input accepts a statute alias or exact ELI URI; you may also pass version_uri directly. Use as_of (YYYY-MM-DD) for historical structure, or version_uri to pin one exact version. Output is optimized for token efficiency: - overview_text: high-level structure (book/part/title/chapter) - article_numbers: flat list of article labels (e.g. Art. 1, Art. 28a) If machine-readable text is unavailable, call list_fedlex_versions and choose a version with has_text=true.

Read the full consolidated text of a Swiss federal statute (law). Requires a Fedlex ELI URI; call resolve_fedlex_statute first if you only have a name or abbreviation. Use offset and max_chars for paging. The response includes has_more and next_offset. Use as_of (YYYY-MM-DD) for the version in force on a date, or version_uri to pin one exact version. Obtain version_uri from list_fedlex_versions (choose an entry with has_text=true). If you only have a statute name, call resolve_fedlex_statute first.

get_fedlex_text

List recent changes to a canton's (or CH / INTLEX) legislation from LexFind.ch, newest first. Each entry: change_date, change_type (new, version, total_revision, formless, abrogated, removed), the affected law (id, systematic number, title) and version dates. 15 entries per page; pass next_offset as offset for the next page. hide_formless skips editorial-only changes. Use it for "what changed lately in canton X"; then get_cantonal_law or list_cantonal_law_versions for details.

list_cantonal_law_changes

List the dated version history of a Swiss cantonal/federal law from LexFind.ch, newest first. Output per version: version_id, type (new, version, total_revision, formless = editorial only), is_current, active_since, inactive_since, title, category and lexfind_url (PDF of that version). Use it to find which version applied at a date: the version with the latest active_since on or before that date. Pass a version_id to get_cantonal_law to inspect it. Dates are dd.mm.yyyy. Coverage and exact in-force dates depend on what the canton published; verify against the official source for critical use. Use search_cantonal_law first to find the document ID.

list_cantonal_law_versions

List consolidation versions of a Swiss federal statute on Fedlex (newest first). Each entry includes date_applicability, version_uri, has_text, and is_current. Pass version_uri directly to get_fedlex_text or get_fedlex_article to retrieve that exact historical version. Only versions with has_text=true have machine-readable text; the others will fail text or article retrieval. eli_uri must be an exact Fedlex ELI URI. Use resolve_fedlex_statute first if needed.

list_fedlex_versions

Look up a Swiss federal law by name, abbreviation, or SR number and get its canonical Fedlex ELI URI. Input: compact alias, SR reference, or short title fragment. Natural language queries are not supported. German aliases: OR, ZGB, BV, StGB, DSG. French aliases: CO, CC, CPP, CPC, LPD. Italian aliases: CO, CC, CP. SR references always work: SR 220 (OR/CO), SR 210 (ZGB/CC), SR 311.0 (StGB/CP), SR 235.1 (DSG/LPD). Output: ranked statute matches with ELI URI, title, and Fedlex URL. Use this first when you do not yet have an ELI URI.
