TriviaQuiz

Use this when the user wants to study, practice, revise, play solo, test themselves, or use flashcards directly in ChatGPT. Generate 1–30 questions from the requested topic or supplied study material and include an explanation for each. Choose quiz for scored multiple-choice, multi-select, true/false or short-answer questions; choose flashcards for reveal-and-rate practice. Creates a private, untimed session with progress and retry-missed rounds. Guest sessions expire after seven days; the learner can choose Save my progress in the card to keep sessions and completed results in a free account. No account or player name is needed to start. Do not use for hosting a group or collecting credentials, personal health records, payment data, government IDs or broad chat history.

create_study_session

Use this when the user explicitly wants to publish, host or share a live group quiz, classroom game, team trivia, QR-code game or leaderboard room from ChatGPT-generated questions. For personal practice, flashcards or solo play inside ChatGPT use create_study_session instead. Creates a public player link and private game host dashboard link. Show both links to the creator and keep the host link private. Users can claim quizzes after signing in on the web app. Do not use to collect passwords, payment card data, health data, government identifiers, or broad chat history.

create_live_quiz

Use this when the quiz creator asks for current results, responses, scores, player count, or leaderboard from a TriviaQuiz live quiz. Requires the private game host dashboard URL returned when the quiz was created. Do not use for public player-only links.

get_quiz_results

Use this when planning solo study or a live group quiz. Solo learning uses create_study_session for untimed quiz or flashcard cards inside ChatGPT; live hosting uses create_live_quiz for public player links, QR codes and leaderboards. Returns live-room limits. Solo supports 1–30 questions, 2–6 options, required explanations and seven-day guest progress, which learners can save to a free account from the card. Do not use for unrelated surveys or forms.

get_quiz_requirements

Use this when resuming a private TriviaQuiz study session or checking its progress. Requires sessionId and accessToken from the session result. Returns the current question, progress, and feedback only after answering or revealing. Keep the access token private; never put it in a URL.

get_study_session

Use this when the user wants to open TriviaQuiz solo study, browse practice modes, or try the sample quiz. Opens a visual study home in ChatGPT. For a specific topic, generate suitable questions and call create_study_session directly.

open_study

Use this when the learner interacts with the TriviaQuiz study card to submit an answer or flashcard self-rating, reveal, advance, retry missed questions, or restart a completed private session. Available only to the app UI. Send sessionId, accessToken and version; answer, reveal and next also require questionId. For answers send selectedOptionIds, answerText, or remembered after flashcard reveal. Retrying starts a new round and replaces current missed attempts. Restart clears current answers and progress, retaining questions and completed round results; obtain explicit learner confirmation before confirmRestart: true. Submit answers only from card interactions. Exact scoring retries with the same version do not apply twice. Operates only on this private session; never publishes or sends messages. Study results include a save-only account link in widget-only metadata; the card opens it directly when the learner chooses to save.
