Description
CheapCADTools makes complete, ready-to-use mechanical parts from a description. Each of its six generators is a parametric program that builds the part to the published standards and the makers' data, and checks every setting against them: - Timing Pulley Generator: GT2, HTD, T5, AT5, XL, MXL and 30+ more belt profiles (ISO 13050, ISO 5294, ISO 5296); flanges; two-pulley drives with the belt. - Sprocket Designer: ANSI 25 to 240 (ASME B29.1), ISO 606 and bicycle chains, single or multi-strand; two-sprocket drives with the chain. - Gear Designer: spur, helical and herringbone gears by ISO 54 module or diametral pitch; pairs, internal rings and racks; DIN 3960 profile shift. - Worm Gear Designer: a worm and the wheel it cuts, 1 to 8 starts, ZA, ZN, ZI and ZK threads, with the efficiency and self-locking. - Bevel Gear Designer: straight bevel pairs at shaft angles from 10° to 170° (ANSI/AGMA 2005-D03 or Gleason), spiral bevel and hypoid pairs at 90° (ISO 23509). - Planetary Gear Designer: sun, 1 to 8 planets, ring and carrier, any member held, up to three stages, with planet pins and bearings (AGMA 6123). All six take round, D-flat, ISO 773 keyed, ISO 14 and ISO 4156 splined and hex bores with DIN 471 retaining rings, and hubs with set screws. Describe the part the way you'd describe it to an engineer. Claude looks up the generator's parameters, builds the design and checks it against the standards. When a check finds a problem, such as a chain too short for its sprockets or an undercut gear tooth, Claude applies the generator's own Auto-fix and tells you what changed. Designing and checking are free. When you want the files, Claude quotes the token cost and, once you agree, gives you a download link for STL (with your print compensation), STEP at true size, DXF or SVG. Tokens are taken only when you open that link in your browser, never by Claude. The generators were written with Claude Code.

How the directory, categories and Discoverability Score work.
Read the methodologyHow do I improve CheapCAD Tools's Claude Connector discoverability?
The levers are the listing surface agents actually read: names, descriptions, keywords, tool metadata, and registry health. Which lever matters depends on where discovery breaks, which is what continuous measurement shows.
What are CheapCAD Tools alternatives on Claude?
As of 2026-11-02, CheapCAD Tools competes with 3DOptix optical design and simulations, Avontus Viewer, BoardRepo, Cadwork.ai, CELUS Design Studio, Diatech Make, EasyGerber, eino and 17 more in Claude CAD & 3D Design Tool Control, ranked by public Discoverability Score.
